Click here to read a blog post about how and why I got into photography.
Since I was a kid I created art. My first passion was drawing, then painting, then photography, but I also dabbled in sculpture and printing. For as long as I can remember I have just been trying to make pretty things. Now, I just try to focus on making the pretty come out in all things, especially people.
I find all creatures beautiful and fascinating! I try to find beauty in all moments, even the ones that try my patience. I try to find humor in even the worst moments because there's nothing else to do and it's out of my control anyway. I try to empathize and comfort those who need me and I just try my hardest to live in each moment of the day.
I love to talk about my family, but I also love to talk about hiking, beautiful destinations, food, movies and music. My husband is the best partner I could ever ask for and my son is a wild three year old, who can make me laugh and raise my voice in the split of a second. No matter what happens I know that both will be there for me and I'll be there for the both of them.
Some of my favorite things are:
Netflix (I mean c'mon who doesn't like Netflix) and shows like Narcos, Stranger Things and Jessica JOnes
Cooking and baking
Taking walks and working out with Kaia Fit!
Playing at the park with my son
Backpacking and hiking
Music - all kinds but I like rock the most.
Animals - I have 20 chickens, two dogs and two cats. There are too many chickens to name them all, but our favorite is named Edna. Our dogs are Henry and Lloyd and the cats names are Tucker and Doc Holiday.
Bath robes - so warm!
Elastic waist fashionable pants - not even joking they are so comfortable.
I am a self taught photographer meaning I don't have a BA in photography from some fancy art school. I have taken over 30 different classes from local photographers and online. But learning and mastering anything is a life long process and I learn new things everyday that improve my style. I shoot with Nikon because I know it well and my favorite lens is a Sigma 35mm. I love to capture environment with my subjects.
Below is a slideshow of some of my favorite family photos. As you can see they are not perfect, but they are representative of me and how I feel about my family.
